Electrician is a multistage career. Apprentices start with helping electricians on-the-job while they attend electrical school. Journeymen work under supervision to install & repair electrical connections and devices for heat, lighting, and machinery. Master electricians have additional experience in planning and laying out electrical power systems. Each career stage has State-required educational hours, work experience, and examinations.
